Work out how long a conversion course should take when someone already holds
a lift truck qualification and needs another category. Choose what they hold,
what they need, and how the course will run. The calculator applies the
published AITT durations and the ratio rules.
Course Conversion Calculation Table AF043, V8
Choose the qualification held and the one needed, then select Calculate.
Durations come from the AITT Course Conversion Calculation Table, AF043 - 2026 V8.
Reading the result
Adjusted duration
The course length to plan for. On 1:1:1 training, published durations
of a day or more are halved. Anything under a day stays as published.
Training hours
The adjusted duration in hours, counting one day as 7.5 hours of
training. Breaks are not included.
Course groups
How many groups the candidates split into. One candidate per group on
1:1:1, up to three per group on 3:1:1.
Instructor days
Total instructor time across every group, so you can cost the booking
rather than just the course.
No conversion available
There is no recognised conversion route between those two
categories.
Check with AITT
The figures still hold for planning, but a restricted application or a
non-standard attachment may change them. Confirm before delivery.
Before you rely on these figures
Durations come from the AITT Course Conversion Calculation Table (AF043) V8.
Published timings assume standard forks unless stated otherwise.
AF043 sets no fixed reduction for restricted applications. A shorter
course may be appropriate, but it needs documented instructor or AITT guidance.
Restricted applications may need additional training beyond the published conversion.
Where anything is unclear, refer to AITT or the AITT training manual.
